FDCs

Probably one of the most common and easiest to find deficiencies is damaged FDCs or FDCS that have missing caps or have been painted.  While probably not a significant finding in of itself, when I find these it is a sign that the property and systems needs a more thorough look.



FDC caps missing on a top of a mountain (11,000+ feet)?  Of course.




So what do they have up at 11,000 feet for fire protection?  A turbo-charged diesel driven fire pump and 10,000 gallons of anti-freeze solution. 

But you say, they don't have fires up there at 11,000 feet.  But you would be wrong.  Here's what's left:
